Sign is a reconstruction of the interior of a neon sign from a closed McDonald’s restaurant. The technical composition of neon tubes, wires and a supporting structure remains as an illuminating statement about the aesthetic value of the technical composition itself. The location inside the exhibition space also changes the object’s context from cityscape to exhibition room and it enters into dialogue with other neon works from the history of art.
